Name: Dave Warwick
Hometown: Princess Anne, MD
Personal Background: I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland then later found my niche in the Pittsburgh area where I attended college at Clarion University.
How I Got Started Crafting Beer: To celebrate graduating from college, I met my friend Bryan Plummer at North Country Brewing Co. in Slippery Rock, PA. It was over their Honey Bear Brown that I contemplated what to do with this newly found Marketing degree. I had been a sales rep for Coors; hated the sales part, but loved the beer industry. There in the backyard of the brewery on the beautiful May afternoon, it hit me that brewing is what I wanted to do. As luck would have it, Brewmaster Matt Carroll at the Pittsburgh Rock Bottom was looking for an assistant and took me under his wing. A year later, Rock Bottom moved me to Denver to sharpen my skills as an apprentice under "The Professor" Scott O'Hearn.
Brewing Philosophy: Keep it simple, stupid. Stick with what works. Master the basics of good brewing. Stay away from such ingredients as Malaysian Pomegranate.
Favorite Brew: Sean McIntyre's Honey Bear Brown. It inspired me to want to brew.
Favorite Quote: "Dave, would you like another beer?" - Bartender
Awards: Whoa! Take it easy, I just started.
